In past years your generous contribution helped us present our annual All-District Music Festival at the San Jose State University Events Center. The festivals have always been very successful for our students, our music program and our district.
On Tuesday, March 14, 2017, we continue this very special tradition with our 45th Annual District Music Festival. Our 800 music students, who are enrolled in choral and instrumental music classes across our five high schools, will join together for a daylong rehearsal and evening concert. It will be a wonderful night to celebrate the arrival of yet another outstanding year of music in our schools.
We believe this festival is a unique one for our students. This year, we have selected some of the most distinguished conductors from exemplary high school and university music programs that will spend the day teaching our students and preparing them for the evening concert.
This year’s guest conductors are:
- Dr. Edward Harris, symphonic band, San Jose State University
- Mr. Buddy James, concert choir, Cal State East Bay
- Mr. Gus Kambeitz, jazz ensemble, West Valley College
- Mr. Aaron Hines, percussion, eNVision Arts, Reno, NV
- Ms. Kate Francis, symphony orchestra, Los Gatos Union School District
The cost to rent the San Jose State Events Center exceeds the income from ticket sales and district funding. We are again looking for dedicated sponsors and advertisers to help defray this cost.
